Leonard Blavatnik
In 2007, the Blavatnik Family Foundation partnered with the New York Academy of Sciences to establish the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists.
The Awards celebrate exceptional scientists aged 42 and younger working in the fields of Chemistry, Physical Sciences, and Engineering or Life Sciences. Honorees are selected by a distinguished judging panel of Nobel laureates and leading scientists based on the quality, novelty, and impact of their research and potential for future contributions to science.
In 2017, building on the tremendous success of the Awards in the United States, the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in the United Kingdom and the Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in Israel were initiated.
To date, the Awards have recognized scientists from over 200 institutions, with awards totaling more than $4 million.
