Access Industries

Len founded Access Industries in 1986 in New York City as a privately-held global industrial group.  Under his direction as Chairman of the Board, Access Industries’ portfolio of long-term diversified holdings have grown to exceed USD $20 billion.  The company has investments in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Access Industries primarily invests in high growth, high value industries of natural resources and chemicals, media and telecommunications, venture capital/technology and real estate. The firm’s holdings rank among some of the most important and transformative investments in their sectors.

Access Industries’ industrial portfolio includes a significant stake in LyondellBasell Industries, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemical, and refining companies. The investment, much of which was made as it was recovering from bankruptcy, has been described as the greatest deal in Wall Street history.

The firms’ 2011 acquisition of Warner Music Group in 2011, meanwhile, was a key milestone in the development of online streaming services. As Chairman of the Board Len has overseen Warner’s decision to open its music archives to streaming services, helping to pave the way for companies like Spotify and Tencent.

In real estate, Access Industries diverse portfolio of iconic hotels and other commercial and residential income-producing properties in the United States, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean while theatrical productions funded by Access have won eight Tony Awards and ten Olivier Awards in the last two years alone.
